A Message from the Artistic Director
At Westchester Dance Artists, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, our mission is to educate, elevate, and inspire our students by creating a safe community of artists. We believe that everyone can enjoy the performing arts, and strive to give our students the tools and opportunities they need to pursue their goals in the arts, and in life. Our holistic approach to teaching gives us the opportunity to build a family-like atmosphere full of joy and creativity, while still giving our students a strong technical base.
Westchester Dance Artists is a place for artists of all ages, young and old, to grow and learn in a healthy and joyful way. Along the way, we hope to give our students a chance to feel that they are part of something unique and special. Since the founding of SHPA, our first incarnation, in 2001, it has been a great privilege to share in this profound experience with so many talented individuals, many of whom return to the studio to share their experience and expertise with the next generation of artists. I look forward to continuing this process, and sharing the arts with the world, one student at a time.
Best,
Debralyn Press

Westchester Dance Artists, a 501(c)(3), is passionately committed to providing the people of our community with a safe place where everyone is respected and accepted. We are dedicated to educating, elevating, and inspiring the arts. Within our doors we create opportunities for diverse artists to learn, create, and innovative new works that speak to the social good.
Westchester Dance Artists, originally known as Sleepy Hollow Performing Artists, was created in 2002 when founder and Artistic Director Debralyn Press invited a group of master artists to work with her in creating a dance and theater studio that would become a safe and exhilarating environment for artists in the lower Hudson Valley.
In 2017, WDA moved to their new home at 157 Main Street in Ossining, New York.
We are a non-profit educational and cultural organization. We collaborate, teach, and perform many performances in NY state featuring professional and community based artists, creating a steady and vibrant pulse of energy, inspiration, and creation.
WDA is dedicated to promoting growth and self esteem through the arts while at the same time imparting meticulous instruction in the performing arts.
Our space is comprised of three dance studios equipped with marley covered floors, floating barres, mirrors, and a professional sound system; a voice and music room; an office; lobby; and two bathrooms. There is ample street parking, and lots behind and across the street from the studio.
