COVID-19 UPDATES 

During this unprecedented time, we have learned that people need the arts, friends, and joy to thrive- especially children. However, we are aware and agree with NYS and CDC safety regulations surrounding the Covid-19 Pandemic. Westchester Dance Artists is committed to making our studios a safe place for you and your families to dance and feel good about it. 
​Cleaning Procedures: 

• We will be cleaning and disinfecting following CDC recommendations. They recommend cleaning and disinfecting frequently in order to reduce the spread of germs.
• We will continue to use products approved by the EPA, to kill germs, including those which cause Covid-19. This includes Lysol products, Hydrogen Peroxide, and Clorox products.
• As per CDC recommendation, we will be disinfecting touchpoints daily, such as door handles and knobs, chairs, front desk, and tables, cubbies and coat racks, the computer keyboard and mouse in the lobby, light switches, sinks in the bathroom and lobby, barres, stereo buttons, any classroom materials we use, and toilets.
• Cleaning will happen multiple times daily- before classes begin, after classes have ended for the day, and between classes while students are not present.
• We will be using disposable cleaning supplies, such as paper towels and swiffer pads, to ensure that germs are not spread.
• Floors will be swept, mopped, and disinfected after classes daily.
• The studio is also hoping to invest in a ventilation system which will aid in killing the virus,. If you would like to help us do this, please donate through PayPal on our homepage.

Personal Safety Procedures

• Aside from requiring all students and teachers to wear face masks the entire time they are in the studio, we are also taking temperatures at the door and asking people with any symptoms or potential exposure to please stay at home.
• Classes this semester will be running smaller than usual. We are going to keep classes between 4-8 people, depending on the size of the studio and the age of the students. For the companies which typically have run larger, we are using outdoor spaces.
• Students will be asked to leave all their personal belongings in a cubby, which will be disinfected daily, and to maintain a safe distance from the other dancers.
• Hand sanitizer and handwashing will be enforced during class sessions, bathroom breaks, and entering the building
• To minimize the amount of people in the studio, parents, guardians, and anyone else involved in picking up and dropping off students will be asked to remain downstairs outside the door- students will be escorted to and from class by their teachers.
• We are also offering hybrid solutions - such as class members having the option of taking class over Zoom while the teacher is in-person with other students. ​
